A fully automated awning, offering protection for you and your furnishings

The Arafura will protect you and your furnishings from the harsh New Zealand sun at the touch of a button. The fully Automated Operation extends the folding arms from a fully enclosed Cassette that presents a clean fascia when the Awning is not in use.

The Arafura Awning is custom made for each installation and comes with a range of projection options. ‘Projection’ describes how far the awning extends, and the Arafura is available with 2m, 2.5m, 3m or 3.5m. You can also choose from a huge range of fabric colours and designs, all manufactured from water-repellent, marine-grade 100% acrylic with a UPF rating of 50+.

The Folding Arms come in your choice of Anodised Silver or White Powder Coat and the décor trim kit is available in Warm White, Silver or Black.

Automation & Integration

Automation Control is available via hand-held Remote or Wall Switch options. You could also choose to integrate the awning control into your home Automation System or have it respond to Wind and Solar Sensors.

Durability

The folding arms feature Heavy-duty Springs to ensure optimal Fabric Tension and the elbow joints are fitted with ultra strong Dyneema^® connections to improve stability and durability over time.

By including a compact semi-enclosure feature Nordic has created an awning system that protects the fabric from the elements when not in use.

Pitch Control for Nordic

Nordic Classic and Design awnings have an optional adjustment function that allows you to vary the pitch of the Awning from -5˚ to -40˚ to better control Shade. Optional Extra. A manual crank control will easily project and retract awnings up to 7000mm, but larger Awnings will benefit from motorised operation due to the weight of the Awning.

Rain Hood for Nordic

An optional Rain Hood is a stylish accessory that will provide improved fabric protection from the elements and extend the life of your awning’s fabric. Optional Extra.

Available for Nordic Classic, Nordic Design and Nordic Cross-Over awning options.

Roller Valance for Nordic

Add an additional screening fabric to your awning, which is easily operated by a Crank Handle and stores away when not in use. Not available with Nordic Classic or Dynamic Semi. Optional Extra.

Telescopic Arm for Nordic

A Telescopic Pole can be used in windy conditions to stabilise the front bar, increasing your awning’s wind resistance and extending its life. These poles are collapsible for easy storage. Optional Extra.

Somfy® Automation

Somfy Automation operates on 12 volts using a transformer attached to the mains power supply or external Li-ion battery pack.

Somfy® TaHoma Switch

Somfy® TaHoma Switch is the perfect option for anyone to connect and control their products from using Smartphones, Tablets or iPad. TaHoma Switch gives your customers the freedom of controlling their Somfy® products from anywhere Wi-Fi is available.
